Welcome!

Kainon Land Media is more than just a place to find books.

At KLM our team is working to create books that represent people of faith.

Our hope is that both children and adults will learn that implementing the Word of God really isn't hard. It's simply recognizing daily that we can embrace the promises, the hopes, and the instructions we find within the Bible. And that when we do, we are spiritually and emotionally stronger, and that strength doesn't just affect us, but also impacts the world around us!

"Our family LOVES that in New Adventures, Bee and her family become nomads too! We understand the 'inside and outside jobs' when moving our camper. Thanks for making a book that's relatable!"

- The Nelson Family

"My two great-nieces LOVE Marvelous Work! Lily age 6, and Ellie age 4 tell me it's their favorite book. I can't tell you the number of times we have read it. Lily reads it by herself. While we're reading it, Ellie talks about the girl, then when we reach the end, Lily says it's her turn and takes the book! Just wanted you to know the JOY your book is giving and thank you for the wonderful message the girls are receiving!"

-Diane M.

"My favorite part of The Crazy Cool Glove is when Sully jumped through the air at MACH SPEED and ate Bee's ice cream! I can't believe that happened!"

Sea Turtle Spotlight

Did you know that the inside of a sea turtle's mouth, throat, and esophagus have flexible, cone shaped, backward-pointing spikes called papillae that assist in swallowing and digesting jellyfish. The danger is that plastic bags floating in the water can also look like jellyfish... confusing the hungry sea turtles. And unfortunately, if a turtle swallows a bag, it will get trapped in their spikey papillae, clogging their intestines. Fishing tackle, fishing lines, and nets can also cause great harm to sea turtles and all marine life. That's why it's SUPER important to keep beaches and bodies of water CLEAN.

When leaving a coastal area, let's ensure that no trash is left behind!

Together, we can share our EARTH responsibly!

Robinson Island

Robinson Island, Orange Beach, Alabama

Did you know that Islands can be located anywhere on Earth? Not just in the areas of the Caribbean!

Islands can be found in oceans, seas, lakes, and also rivers. An Island is a land mass, large or small, that is completely surrounded by water on all sides.

And near the Gulf of Mexico, in Orange Beach Alabama, there are two very special islands. Bird Island and Robinson Island.

They are neighboring islands, divided by a small strait. Although they both are a habitat for sea birds, Robinson Island is a beautiful sanctuary with a very large bird nesting population.

Oh, and by the way, their crab population may be even larger! Hundreds of small crabs can be seen scrambling through the sand.

Did you know that there are a few harmful things that can damage islands? It's true. Human interaction is one that can be very harmful. By walking in the areas that are protected, picking plants or flowers, leaving trash behind, or holding activities that erode the sand, are all things that can damage these beautiful areas. Also, recreational boating that comes too close to their shores, and storms that bring strong surf and wind, are also destructive items.

Fortunately, after one strong storm came to Bird and Robinson Islands, local high school students from Gulf Shores High School's Botany Class, assisted in planting over 3,000 trees!

This was a great effort to restore and protect the islands from erosion, and strengthen their ecosystems.

Here are a few suggestions to remember when visiting islands...

*If possible, try to visit by using a NON-MOTORIZED watercraft, which include kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes.

*Don't take disposable trash on the islands; such as plastic bags, sandwich bags, or plastic or styrofoam cups.

*Pack your lunch in items that you will carry back home with you!

*Remember, No trash left behind!

*Show respect to their fragile ecosystem; the plants, sea birds, animals, and marine life.

*Oh, and take pictures from a responsible distance so you don't disturb the natural beauty.

*And don't forget... ENJOY & HAVE FUN! You're making memories!
